Ford Pro Stock

Who builds the engines for the Cuadra Ford team out of Mexico? Is it Charlie Westcott?

They are definitely not Ford engines; as you can tell by my avatar, I am a diehard Ford fan, so I wish they were Ford engines.

They've been running Elite engines all year. And they're not Ford engines

Re: Ford Pro Stock

There will never be another COMPETITIVE Ford or Mopar engine in Pro Stock as long as they stay at 500 inches.Sad but true

There you have it. The N.H.R.A. totally ****s up the class of the people.

Has Charlie divested himself of the Pro Stock?

They have 500 inch chevy's in them sorry to hurt your feelings, lol these are all powered by Frank's motors, Elite maintains them sometimes, Mexicans have a shop very close to Elite's shop and they are good people.

My Mopar feelings aren't hurt, just curious. Pro Stock is a joke. At least Alan Prusiensky has a HEMI under the hood of his Dart.

Sometimes...

As far as being competitive, if you go back to the first year of Fuel Injection, Roy & Allen were doing just fine...car went as fast as 6.54 that year, and qualified in the top half numerous times. No reason why the "Ford" couldn't run right there with them, since the Ford stuff was copies of what was already available to other manufacturers.

They were competitive until NHRA put the 10,500 rpm limit

The fuel injection and rpm limit both came about in 2016. I stand by my statement.

Frank, I don't know if he still has it; but he certainly hasn't run it in several years.

The last post on Charlie's YouTube about anything PS Ford was 5 years ago.

He also has a page for his MilitiaProducts that is still up.

Ford had DRCE style heads or Mopar style heads available. Engine builders could choose to use either one.

I dont think anyone ran anything but the mirror head in the PS Fords. FWIW the new current Mopar stuff is the symmetrical port stuff, seems to workbetter with EFI and 10,500 limit. Before that it was the asymmetrical stuff.

I ran the Mopar 99/06 stuff(which is identical) in a 68 Barracuda.

No one forgot about Larry. We're talking about fuel injection and Pro Stock, Larry didn't make that switch on his Ford program. He only ran it carbureted. To date, I believe Charlie Westcott is the only person to run a fuel injected Ford in 500" Pro Stock.

The Ford DRCE style head was never used, casting was too thin to be usable and never fixed.........

There were two designs of Ford Pro Stock cylinder heads built; the mirror port head and the sequential wedge head. Darin designed and built the sequential wedge cylinder head for the Ford Pro Stock class platform. The belief by many is that the new cylinder head would have given the Ford engines the power to run against the GM engines.

Darin and Ford submitted the head to Glendora for approval and after having the cylinder head in their possession for some time and sharing it with other teams and cylinder head builders, it was rejected.
Two prominent Pro Stock engine builders that I know also told me that many of the features of Ford's sequential wedge head were incorporated into the current version of GM's Pro Stock cylinder head.
