Say Goodnight...Dick
It has come to my attention that long time Phoenix racer, Dick Meierhenry passed away last week .
If you never met Dick, you missed knowing just a super guy. When I first moved to Phoenix, I used to stop by Dick's Automotive to bench race and swap T200 parts with him. He was always willing to take the time out from his busy day. Dick was a big supporter of the local combo races. both as a racer and as a sponsor. We're going to miss him dearly in this world, but I'm sure the class racers in heaven will welcome him with open arms. Farewell, my friend... https://i.postimg.cc/j5gsVyw0/IMG-0091.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/VNz1dKXP/IMG-0594.jpgupload pic |

Re: Say Goodnight...Dick
I talked with Dick a few times, he was always a fun guy to talk to. He found me at the last race I saw him at in Vegas several years ago to say hi. So glad he did.
Rest in peace my friend... |
Re: Say Goodnight...Dick
I was very sorry to hear of Dicks passing, I met him after we moved to Arizona. I, Like others would stop by Dicks Automotive for a little "Bench Racing", and then see him at the local races. RIP my friend. Bob Elliott

I found out this sad news from Wes McCann. I too am thankful for knowing and bench racing with Dick.
Rest in Peace Dick. |
Re: Say Goodnight...Dick
Thanks for posting Mark.
Dick and my dad were best of friends back in Cornhusker Raceway days--pretty certain he built an engine for my Dad's '69 Bel Air back then. I was a baby when we moved away but Dick would still call me 50years later to talk and share stories about my dad and him racing together. Sad to hear this news--rest in peace Dick. |
Re: Say Goodnight...Dick
Spent a lot of time at his shop with my dad. His favorite saying was "they could screw up a soup sandwich"...
