Okay then...

Looks like a well built and unique deal, but I , for one, hope that style doesn't catch on here..More suited for Drag Week or maybe Hot Rod cover IMO

The car is cool as hell no matter what. I don't care if it's patina or not.

That car is badass. Going real fast and leaving in the air
It appeals to the old school and modern horsepower
Unlike what you consider a cool car….. mostly crap you see parking at Walmart
What’s not to like.

Jeff Hefler always has the nicest cars and that '55 is very cool and totally different from the usual cars out there.

I hope he keeps it for a while and puts it in a winners picture somewhere.

That's a very cool piece! I love it and no doubt it will draw more interest in the class.

Mark, It's OK that you don't like the paint style Jeff chose with his own money. You made sure to mention it twice on this thread. The beauty of racing and life, is supposed to be that everyone can do as they want with their money and time, provided it is not hurting someone else. This thread wasn't an opinion poll about the aesthetics. It was that someone, and based the number of likes a lot of others feel the same, that it is a cool car. Old meets new. He is happy, then I am happy for him. The car ROCKS!!

I went by and did a "double and triple" look at Hefler's new car over the weekend. Man, that thing is just too cool.

Did you by any chance see what size tire he's running in the rear? They dont look very wide, was just wondering.

FGT/C has the potential to become a very popular class.

Couldn't agree more. The concept of an LS-powered old car is somewhat cool, but adding the "rat rod" aspect goes nowhere for me. If it was an immaculate '55 (like Bick's red, 2-door wagon in Division 5), I would be onboard, but this just doesn't work, IMHO.

I talked about this for a few years. I joked with Bob Bagley about him putting his COPO engine in his 57 wagon. LOL!! Glad to see somebody actually did it!! This car is bad *** cool!

Andy, I only mentioned it again because an attempt was made to malign me and my choice of race cars. I merely stated MY OPINION about the paint "theme". Notice I didn't even mention r.r. 's

Jeff's a good racer, and I hope he does well with his new car.

That's all I'm going to say here on this subject, unless someone tries to take a personal shot at me.. In that case I'd say, have your resume' in hand.

I'm usually not a fan of the "patina" movement as it goes against my OCD-everything-must-be-clean-and-shiny nature. However, it works on some cars. His '55 is flat-out cool; paint or no paint. You could pick your favorite color and have it professionally applied and that car wouldn't be any cooler than it is right now in my humble opinion. Nice build!

Is it the "Best Appearing Car" at this event?

One of the coolest? Absolutely!! Cool factor of the highest degree. Best Appearing? Sorry, no, I just don't agree.

I think it's very cool and would love to see the vast numbers of nondescript 1990's GM cars replaced by things like this and Roger Brogdon's Chevy II B/AA wagon

I would say it is unique. Not something I would build. Has more of an old world look from an era gone by. That is one of the cool things about super stock is there is a lot of different combos.

Sorry, off topic but is this car being rebuilt after the wreck?

The station wagon will live again – but only as a street car.

“I’m getting it rebuilt. I’m going to make a street ride,” Brogdon said.
