Wow. Out of the box it is over 1000HP. How far under could you go! Ray

FS/AA at 3332 minimum wt. and FS/A at 3620. It's cool that Chevy built one. Wish Ford would do something like that.

I saw the one they had at Barrett. Who makes the aluminum heads for these?. Edelbrock no longer shows the rectangular port aluminum heads in their catalog.

I believe the heads are a spread port designed by Chevy for this engine.

Should be a quick combo for example my A/H Hemi the NHRA has us at 505 and we weigh 3200

Re: 2023 632 Copo

Well, that`s a relief! I thought maybe this was the reason that NHRA brought in the SS/QA class, in case Chevy was able to convince NHRA that the 632 should be rated at 180 HP!:D

Can't wait to read the specs regarding that combinaison on classracerinfo website of Mr. Dwight Southerland.
It will be really interesting.
The specs page is presently on the "Server Error in '/' Application" mode.

None of the COPOs have Drive-By-Wire.

Hey ,thanks for that info.
So they leave off the Grid, or maybe feathering the gas pedal? ;-)

Its all Holley EFI, no grids are needed in a copo. This is an issue with NHRA and their HP factoring system. Guys at my shop constantly try to understand our rules and reasonings behind the HP factors of the combos out there, specifically the fuel injected cars. They are confused why the LSA's or the LS7's arent legal but a COPO is. These LS engines are mass produced in showroom vehicles that make 550-700 HP out of the box and we can't get them into the guide simply because they wouldn't fit a realistic class without being weighing a ton. Yet, a 632 COPO that makes close to 1,000, lets say even at 800, and is rated at 575? Thats laughable. If we want to entice more of a younger crowd, these COPO's arent the ticket. NHRA has to get the cars that are seen on the road, i.e CTSV's, supercharged corvettes, newer camaro's, and played with at all these performance shops, in the guide and let the new generation of racers get involved. Yes, the 632 COPO is awesome, I saw it at PRI. But the average guy walking around doesn't have 6 figures to drop on a racecar...atlease not all at once, lol.

All well and good but it looks like I'm not going to get the answer I'm looking for here.
I guess I better start a new thread. ;-)

I'm guessing Mark is asking that the COPO could leave off of 20% throttle and then let the computer gradually open the throttle as it went down the track.

PozQB14 01-27-2023 05:24 PM

Re: 2023 632 Copo

Yea thats not possible unless you have a drive by wire system. You can set up a signal or light on the dash to tell you when your throttle is at 20% and you can adjust timing according until you get to 100% open throttle. I dont know, the options are endless with the Holley stuff. Its beyond my full comprehesion

Re: 2023 632 Copo

The COPOs have a regular cable to the throttle body, only way to change throttle opening is by the gas pedal.

The Cobra Jets have a drive by wire throttle body that can be limited & controlled through the computer.
