Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing.
Ford is going F1 and Lemans with no $$$ for drag racing.

There’s something the average driver can relate to! I guess all the Mustang owners made their purchases because of how well it is as a family car

Ford says- "Our commitment to be Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and to introduce sustainable fuels in the F1 cars from 2026 is also an important reason for their decision to enter F1.
"We believe that our sport provides the opportunity and reach unlike any other and we cannot wait for the Ford logo to be racing round F1's iconic circuits from 2026." https://www.pitpass.com/74438/Ford-c...-to-F1-in-2026 |

Unfortunately, the new Mustangs I see on the road are SUV's!

Formula E also becoming popular

And BTW, If you want to see what Liberty has done to F1, read some of the comments on the site where the link I posted exists. Mostly old school Brits that are really upset about what has happened to F1 since the "new" hybrid era. (since it raining here in Orlando and no racing to watch).

Everyone said they weren't paying contingency anymore, and Myself and several people I know have gotten checks the last couple years from Ford. If you do post the article where it says that my apology. |

From that Press Release "In 2026, Ford will be the only manufacturer to be competing in racing disciplines from grassroots motorsports to Formula 1 comprising WEC and IMSA including Le Mans 24 Hours with Mustang GT3, WRC with the M-Sport Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1, Baja 1000 with Ranger Raptor and Bronco, and NASCAR, NHRA and Supercars with Mustang." They just lost $2 Billion dollars with a B in the last quarter. I would not be waiting for anything in their racing program. What do you think will be cut first? Yep, nice guess.

Re: Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing
who is it that they sponsor anyway???dont they just sell those race cars????...my guess is the money made on the mustangs paid their sponsorship of the fuel cars.....so looks like a win win to me for them...

Re: Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing
Ford is clearly going electric and I assume when they mentioned NHRA in the press release , the reference is to the E Mustang drag racing cars that are under construction to compete in NHRA's new electric class.
As a ICE motor head, the more new cars that are Drag Racing and young people getting into racing, the better we all are going forward. You don't want to be the last guy making buggy whips. Steve Teeter Stk/SS 620 |
Re: Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing
Nothing better than silent cars going down the drag strip. Electric cars will be great for the hearing impaired and now you will be able to build a drag strip next to a hospital, church or a cemetery. This will spell the end to drag racing.

Re: Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing
From today Automotive New’s
Doesn’t appear there will much spent on Racing! GM doesn’t have a vehicle to replace Camaro after 24. Ford will have Mustang around for several years! GM executives said they plan to cut $2 billion in costs over the next two years, with 30 to 50 percent of that coming this year. The reductions, which will not include layoffs, are meant to help preserve margins as the automaker continues to ramp up its EV transition — including building more battery cells and launching key new models. Ford, meanwhile, plans to slash expenses by a "considerable amount more than" the $3 billion it previously promised to cut by mid-decade, according to CFO John Lawler, who noted "everything is on the table," including further layoffs. |
Re: Ford going F1 and Lemans you can forget about DragRacing
If you get a Ford or GM EV for racing, does the government still offer financial incentives. Or you could get a Tesla and run quicker and won't have to worry about call backs.
I'm sure that Ford or GM for that matter, and Chrysler too will have an easy time competing against the current leaders in F1, yeah right. |
