S/SS Mopar engine builders?
Hello all, I've been away from racing for 20+ years so I'm way out of touch.
Looking for a engine builder familiar with Mopar Hemis and wedges in the lower Michigan/northern Ohio area. I know there's the usual suspects on the east and west coasts but was really hoping to deal with someone closer to home. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
Re: S/SS Mopar engine builders?
I’d give Bruce Parsons a call, he’s in Dayton and know he’s done wedges. Give him a call and discuss. Terry Smith in Cincinnati is very familiar with Hemis.

Re: S/SS Mopar engine builders?
When I think of Hemis and Michigan I think of Charlie Wescott.

Bill, know Charlie is the definitive wizard of Hemis but I shudder to think what his lead time would be for a new customer to get in line. Besides, Bruce doesn’t talk as far over my head LOL.

Try Tony DiPillo in Cincinnati area Specialty Motorwerkes Honkin Hemi.
He’s on Facebook search Tony DiPillo tell him Dan DeBlasio recommended you. |

Is Best Machine still going? They were around Detroit and specialized in Mopar motors.

Forget "local" and find the best one. Call Steve Wann and leave the rest to him.

I never got them back, and years later got a few sets of heads and a raised cam siamese bore block as compensation. It destroyed my dreams of having a car together to race while I was still young. I've owned this car for 30 years and I'm almost 60, this is my last shot at this. So the thought of sending another new hemi block, heads, crank and so on 2500+ miles away scares me. Sorry for the novel, I just wanted to clear up why the desire for a local shop. |

If you can find his number call Rick Locker. He machines his own stuff.
Also back in the day Tony from BES in Cincy had Turks car competitive. |

Re: S/SS Mopar engine builders?
If you want to go fast, Barton.
They are not the cheapest in town but they are one of two fastest Mopar Hemi engine builders. There are engine assemblers and there are engine builders. |
