Evidently,we have World Champions already entering at Grade 8.

Looks like a lost cause.Sorry for the post.I would delete if I knew how.

Its a good thing they are only letting in a quota of 256 total entries for the National lol.

This place the next week will have over 700 cars there or probably closer to 1000.

So ridiculous!! But we all know this.

I'm just a standard sportsman racing nerd and not an official historian, but there aren't any past champions jumping out at me on the current entry list. There is a guy entered who shares a name with one.

So if there aren't any World Champions entered, how did it get to 56 already when the quota is 55?

I guess it could be a contestant with a valid NHRA Gold, Silver, or Bronze card will be guaranteed entry to any National Event. And they elected to enter right away.,overbooking the race at Grade 8.

I think if a racer is high in points you can get in regardless of quota. Not sure how far up the ranking you need to be.

I don’t see this as a problem with racers who entered 8 or more races to get in ahead of you and others, but really it is a NHRA controlled issue.

Why blame other racers because you didn’t get in?

Jim that is only the last four races St Louis is the first of the final four races. If a racer can show he can get to the top ten or remain in the top ten and still has that race to count I think they can get in. But better check you how bad an old person memory is.

Anyone in the Top 10 is guaranteed entry to the final 4 races, even if they are out of points claims.

Anyone in the Top 20 with a mathematical chance to finish in the Top 10 is also guaranteed entry to the final 4 events.

I just saw this post.

CAN YOU SHOW ME WHERE I BLAMED OTHER RACERS BECAUSE I DIDN'T GET IN???

At no time did I blame other racers because I didn't get in.

My point was simply this:

If you have a guaranteed entry into the race,as a courtesy, you could wait just a few weeks since the race is still several weeks away.Once the quota hit 56,nobody else can get in even if it drops back to 55.

It's like this.If you are at a stoplight and somebody wants to exit a gas station, you have two choices. You could be a nice guy and let them in,or you could be an A hole and let them wait all day.You would obviously not let the guy in.

Darrell you just did Blame a racer again… if you were sitting on 7 grade points I would feel you. How many weeks away were you?

Look I agree that it shouldn’t have to be that way. The quotas are low in some areas lower than they should be, but everyone knew that last year this year etc. it should not be a surprise

Grade 7 and I just got back from a 1200 mile round trip to assure I will have 8 next year.

(Not that it will make a difference, because I know of Grade 8 people that didn't get in either)
