Wow only 6 races in Div 1 now ...To make your 7th race you got to go out of Div 1 . Well it's still early things could possibly change .

Re: 2024 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

Looks like Div 1, 2 and 5 all have only 6 races, for now. I see some shuffling of the order in Div 6 also.

A double at Flying H, June 13th, pretty mild weather 1st half of June. The track will be ready, I will be ready. KCIR, always had a National Open in the fall, I hope Flying H, has one.

Where did your schedule come from? This is not what's on the NHRA website.

There is a difference between regional and divisional. Regional has Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny car.

Top 4 portions are TAFC & TAD regionals and going down is the rest of the schedule per Division

Doesn't the open count as a grade point. OK, I'm guessing you're looking at championship points.

Sort of surprised they scheduled Cecil on Mothers day weekend.

NHRA posted June 13-14-15-16 for Flying H so I assume the first 2 days will be Race #1 followed by the last 2 days being Race #2----- FED 387

NHRA needs to tell us which one of these is correct, because they're both different. The dates in the schedule are different from the dates in their press release.

I talked to Steve Rhodes last night who confirmed that there was an IT error with the website yesterday and it will be fixed shortly. The D1 schedule will kick off on Mothers Day weekend at Cecil in May and let's honestly think about it when has D1 EVER started in Feb??? Even when Delmar was on the schedule we didn't race till March at the earliest.

Lebanon Valley Dragway
July 5-7

This was posted already but Mother's day really. We have no division races in June.

Re: 2024 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

Glen you have a lot of Nationals that some D1 members go too in June along with the D1 staff has to attend to help out, so if you can get into the Nationals plenty of racing to do.

Epping NE May 31 to June 2nd
Bristol NE June 7th to 9th
Fathers Day
Virginia NE - June 21 to 23rd
Norwalk NE - June 27th to 30th

Possibly GALOT, or Rockingham, or one of the Ohio races?

Rumor had it that D2 wasn't going back to Reynolds and that Zmax would host one. Obviously that didn't happen. Ideally they should both have dates. I also know that Bradenton has made major improvements and has been asking for a Divisional race for 3 years straight. The excuse given is that there is already 2 races in Florida. Currently there are 2 in Fla, 2 in Georgia, and 2 in NC. With the loss of Atlanta I would welcome another at Bradenton. Racers in northern D2 aren't forced to travel down if they so choose and the rest of us are forced to go to Louisiana, Virginia, or even farther to get our claims.....

Really? I speak with track owners who want nothing to do with divisionals and you have a track actually asking for one and not getting it? Sounds a little strange.

D2 should put Montgomery back on the schedule. Always liked that track.

Maybe give Wade Rich (BMP Track Manager) a call. He straight up told me he has asked Cody for three years for a LODRS date and got crickets.

Lord knows their schedule is chocked full of marquee races. Superstar Shootout, World Series of Pro Mod, Snowbirds, US Street Nats, NMCA, a ton of HIGH Dollar bracket races, etc. They used to have IHRA D2 races and even held a few IHRA National Events...... Rumbling says the successes of the World Series of Pro Mod/Pro Stock races and the impending potentially huge success of the Superstar Shootout don't sit well with the Big N????

Re: 2024 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

With all the major tracks lost over the past few years (Etown, Atlanta, Houston, ATCO, Denver, Sacramento, Fontana, Chicago (only NE held there) to name a few) when do you think it might be time to look into restructuring the Divisions? I mean you could easily split into 8 and drop the blocker from the All Stars. The middle of the Mid Atlantic could become its own Division with the Rock, VMP, Charlotte, Galot, could add Bradenton, Bristol and Montgomery back to D2 and maybe rework the other Divisions. I know it’s probably not as easy as it sounds but, maybe it’s time.

Re: 2024 Lucas Oil Divisional Schedule

With the loss of the Atlanta track in D2 i would like to see a 2nd national and divisional at Gainesville later in the season when the weather cools down a bit. Maybe in late October. Gainesville is a premiere facility and also popular with the racers. Make it a double with the national and divisional on back to back weekends like the gators and baby gators. I am sure the response to that would be huge.

As far as more spectators go that is up to the track operators and promoters to figure out how to get more butts in the stands. Tracks that are in the areas where there is a lot of people should be able to draw a bigger crowd with some better promotion. We have a good show. The Track operators dont seem to do their part in getting more paying customers in the gates. They seem to be happy with the racers paying their way. This is obvious because you can see the tracks have moved more to test and tune than actual racing. Some tracks only race one or two times a month. Having a great announcer that can explain what is happening on the track is also important. Good food at a reasonable price and clean bathrooms is also important to spectators especially for women.

Mike I thought for sure we would have seen a second Natty in Gville already. The "Southern Gators" a few years ago seemed very popular when they moved Atl to Gville in September.

Why doesn't Bradenton host a divisional or a national?
