Re: Air shifter

Paul Forte was also working on a clean neutral version, you might call TurboAction if you can?t find a PPP. Brad and his Dad worked tirelessly to keep up with demand, IMO the M&M represents patent infringement. It?s been a while since I?ve talked to Brad but his tech support was awesome in fixing an issue I had with a unit installed by a previous owner.

Patent infringement for M&M? Please explain...

Re: Air shifter

IMO their similarities are significant enough to say they copied an existing design without introducing any enhancements to that design. If that?s not the case I?m receptive to being corrected ( I?ve been married for almost 50 years so definitely not adverse to correction).

Re: Air shifter

Brad Ochampaugh and his Dad developed the PPP over 30 years ago and it?s proven to be the dominant shifter in this application, subsequent similar offerings from other manufacturers should have expressed licensing agreements which I don?t think is he case in this instance.

Re: Air shifter

I don?t think there was anything unique enough about the PPP shifter to award a patent. There were plenty of other shifters already on the market before PPP emerged. There is plenty of business for all of them. I have the M&M in my car. There are other that look similar to the M&M as well.

Re: Air shifter

I was going back and forth between PPP and M&M and chose M&M because i liked the looks of it better. They both are very high quality units and im sure function very similar. I have had 0 issues with mine.

I looked at M&M also but they don't make a Mopar shifter.

I use a ACD controller, co 2 system with my classic turbo action shifter, with clean nuetral, in the dakota, dart has newer style ta shifter same setup, both work great.

Did Paul Forte modify your TA for clean neutral, surely not just a shifter plate?

The pattern wasn't the same with a clean neutral shifter.

Its not altered, for the air shift, a spring is altered. I used to run it shifting myself, which was ideal, except for the straight 2-3 was too soft and I could too easily go from 1 to 3. If I had to do it again, I'd likely alter the shift pattern with some sheet metal like some have done to keep that from happening.

Re: Air shifter

Clean neutral? That?s that little thingy that sticks up off the gate, make it taller if you feel insecure, why you pulling up the lever? That?s only used to go into reverse. I?m talking the TA shifter of course. Thousands and thousands of shifts and never 1-3 and never into reverse.
