Joe Sorenson
I was watching on NHRA TV and noticed that when Joe staged his headlights were on. After he pulled a wheels up launch they were out. At half track they came back on. ???????
i find that to be very interesting. Why would you do that?? Sarge |
Re: Joe Sorenson
Faulty GM headlight switch would be my guess?

Hmmmmm

Re: Joe Sorenson
I'm with Tim on that one.

Re: Joe Sorenson
so a guy's headlights go out and then back on and your conclusion is he's cheating somehow but you haven't a clue how.

Connection maybe, but directly at launch, then both come back on directly the same time? Why was he the only one with headlights on anyway? It?s daytime |
Re: Joe Sorenson
for as long as I've been racing, over 30 years, there are those that claim some racers are cheating yet they never have proof, don't have a clue to how they or anyone would cheat and said racer(s) are still racing and winning today while the one's making the claims either quit long ago or still can't win a round no mind a race.

I never made a claim saying anyone was ?cheating? you actually inserted that word, obviously it was an odd thing for ?stock eliminator? especially when it come to national points chasers racing other national hitters. Just an observation, I?m not ?claiming? anything, and last I checked I didn?t see Your name on any qualifying sheet anywhere, yes I race and race often but I know your game anyway, so nuff said |
Re: Joe Sorenson
This used to be such a nice site to visit and share some camaraderie and
teasing with fellow racers. Not so much anymore. J.R. |

Agreed my friend |
Re: Joe Sorenson
where's the camaraderie when you insinuate that another racer is cheating?
Yes the OP, you and tstickff did, own it! |

Re: Joe Sorenson
Headlight wires are probably tied into the brake light switch (accidently I'm assuming)
|
Re: Joe Sorenson
Quite some time ago, I asked him why he has the car set up to do this, it isn't my place to explain why he does this but there is nothing magical going on here. If you ask him nicely, he will probably explain it to you.

Re: Joe Sorenson
At least they work!

Re: Joe Sorenson
Joe is pitted right next to me. Super nice guy! If Joe wins next round. He takes back the points lead.

Goooooooo--Joe!

Re: Joe Sorenson
I don't think for a moment that Joe is cheating. He's just really good at what he does. And he and his brother make serious Horsepower not matter the
combination, BB, SB, 4 barrel, 2 barrel, smart people. I like the headlight idea, keeps people looking in that area, so you don't look where you might see something you can copy. J.R. |

Re: Joe Sorenson
Mission accomplished Joe!

Re: Joe Sorenson
there can be only one explanation-when the lights come on it activates the
antigravitational thermal nano- magnets in the driveshaft which upon reaching warp speed will accelerate the car forward at 1/ten trillionth of a millisecond and this in turn will cause enormous G Forces on the driver until they turn the lights off. |

Keep people wondering. Make them look at what doesn't even matter. Gets in their head. Joe and Hal are sharp, all the respect in the world to those guys, they always had two tenths on my stuff, at least. |

With the currently running thread on holding, what is a special thing turns into a very special thing. Though they're two very experienced racers, I truly hope there isn't a redlight. |
Re: Joe Sorenson
Of course you do frank, that’s no surprise :D
I vote to ban those that showed why this forum is such a nice site to visit and share some camaraderie by insinuating a racer was cheating! Remember this from 13 years ago frank? Quote:

Re: Joe Sorenson
With al due respect to all here is my conspiracy theory:
Looking at the qualifying sheet where he qualified how far under the F index his dial all week he may be in protection mode slowing the car down lowering the average. Running the headlights will load the alternator eating some HP. The on off could be as simple as an old switch or loose ground. |
Re: Joe Sorenson
Congratulations to Joe and Hal!
