CSR

Should be ready in like 2 weeks.

Re: Trans Shields

Maybe 2 years. Terrible company that didn’t pay contingency and really hasn’t been in business for over a decade.

DO not buy from CRS you will never see you part and you will never see your money.
Do a web search on them first !!!!!!

A lot of guys have been going to a ballistic blanket on the Mopar trans due to CSR shields being so hard to get or have recertified . they are a terrible company to deal with. There is a company called Loganbuilt Transmissions in Kentucky that makes a stainless steel SFI flexplate shield .It's pricy but available.

Does a blanket hold in more heat?

Not enough to make any difference on the time slip.

I sent them 2 shields, both unaltered and they called me within a week of receiving them and sent both out within the next week. That was earlier this season. People want to bad mouth them, if they dont have the product they cant ship it. I think the hold up is one of the materials used for the shields. The CSR shield is lighter than a blanket and much neater. Find a used, unaltered shield to buy and send it to them.

Re: Trans Shields

Your experience may vary......

I was charged in February 2024 for two shields and have heard the following excuses on my regular calls

* materials
* humidity
* storms
* staffing
* business volume

I have experienced quick turnarounds on recerts but this has not been a good experience.....

Update - this post reminded me to call again for another update. They expect to ship them today. I'll be happy to receive. They build a good product but the wait can be difficult.

I have a new one still in the box for a powerglide but dang it, that doesn't help you either. Hope you find one.

I second McKinney Corp. Amazing customer service. Built me a shield and I had a few minor issues on fitment, sent pictures and call later he shipped me a new one with a return label for the old one. Awesome people to work with.

I was told that they would not recertify if the unit was over 10 years old. If supply problems are that severe, perhaps they've changed that policy. It's worth a phone call before you send it.

At one time they would not certify a shield twice, they changed that policy when they were unable to make new ones for so long.

I had not heard of the "ten year rule" so I can't help on that one.

I guess I just don?t understand how a piece of formed steed that has never had anything exploded into it has deteriorated where it needs to be recertified. Think the rule should be if an incident has occurred that damaged the sheild it should be replaced or recertified. Mike McMahan 2543 H/SA

Some people hack them up, drill holes in them and lose parts to them to make them pretty much useless. I've been told that's the main concern.

4543 11-11-2024 10:31 AM

Re: Trans Shields

That?s on you if you hack it up. When you sign the tech card you are certifying that it is ad produced.
