S** Sells
Content warning: This is STK/SS adjacent and has to do with sponsorships, but not directly tied to STK/SS. Just wanted to get on my soap box for a moment.
So I'm surfing FB like we all do and come across a "Sponsored" post by some ugly blonde. One of those regular posts that you see on FB from time to time where the creator paid to boost it so that people that don't follow the page will see it. Curiosity took hold. The post was more or less a season re-cap, with phrases like "what a great season my 'team' has had" and "we had some ups and downs..." She thanks sponsors, family, team members, typical bullsh!t. I'm looking and reading this post thinking: "this is the kind of post somebody that's absolutely trash at drag racing would make." So I look at the handful of images attached to the post. All of them include her, lots of cleavage and make-up, and a twin turbo top dragster fully wrapped and littered with sponsors, with a stacker to boot. So I think to myself "ouch, might have been too soon to judge, perhaps she's very successful and I've just never heard of her." So I decide to investigate a little further. Can't find her on the D7 TD points list. hmm, weird. So I check everybody's favorite class racing matchup tool, DragInsights. There I find the truth. In 31 total TD events, dating back to 2020, she has a grand total of 25 round wins (a round win percentage of 44%) and a best event finish of 3rd round loss. That is not impressive. Don't get me wrong, I'm super hot garbage at running stock, with a worse round win percentage in 5 events this year, so I'm not trying to throw stones at the record. But I also drive a backyard special with holes in the floor, and I certainly don't boost my "had fun this year but am trash at racing" posts on social media. They say envy is the thief of joy. I am extremely grateful for all that I have and I am very proud of it and all my race family. BUT WHY IN THE EVER LOVING HELL DOES SHE HAVE 5 SPONSORS AND STARTING A TOP ALCOHOL TEAM?! Why does all the talent that already exists in NHRA class racing get overlooked in favor of some well spoken person? It makes me so mad. I'll post a few images so you guys can make your own judgement. I'll never understand corporate America and I hate it more everyday. fyi, her main sponsor is OnlyFans (primarily a pornography sight) and her nude photos exist in the public domain (That's one thing I did not research, someone DMed me on FB griping about it too and told me that). She essentially got where she is by selling herself and is openly proud and embracing it. Gross. |

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion BUT I think that in your youthful age you are being a bit hard on her. It appears as though like you, she has a passion for drag racing and is doing everything she can do to fund her team. Please feel free to forward me her contact info ….AND her cleavage pics.

Re: S** Sells
Well Dawson, welcome to the real world! At some points in my "career" (if you want to call it that) I have felt the same way!
Watch your name-calling though. It's not very polite or professional and it just might bite you in the arse somewhere down the road. |
Re: S** Sells
Fair, It's a bit much. I will edit.

Re: S** Sells
dont get tangled up in what somebody else is doing and concentrate on your program on and off of the track. learn from Mr Nees and think twice before spouting off things on the internet that may come back to haunt you in the event you are trying to get some sponsorship help in the future. some that may or may not have as much talent as you think you might have, are using what they do have to get what you dont have.
since you do not have a sexy body with large amounts of cleavage try to use the brain that God blessed you with to get the things you would like to go along with the talent you have. ep-i like cleavage |

Also I'm not here to compare talent level, but I felt it was meaningful to consider her record for the sake of the conversation. She isn't exactly Peter Biondo, nor as pretty. ;) |
Re: S** Sells
i have seen you up close my son. you will not be on only fans.
ep-i am glad i raised you right. |
Re: S** Sells
Not everyone agrees on Summers marketing techniques, but she does work hard at trying to making it to the next level. She really doesn't deserve to be ***** talked online. Her Father and Husband are racers and good guys, and probably wouldn't appreciate you calling her names. Like Billy said up above, you may want to soften your rant.

Don?t knock the hustle if it brings in race car $$$

Re: S** Sells
I doubt NHRA even knows what that site is all about.
My opinion is, it's gross.. Lets support women in the sport by supporting a site that exploits teens and women. Personally as a man, it's our job to protect women. MY OPINION! |

Re: S** Sells
I was searching for the posts from 20 yrs ago when Penthouse was on a funny car and all the complaining back then. Guess I just couldn?t find.
Only to play devils advocate does anyone on this thread actually follow her or even know what she posts? Or are you just speculating? OF has a lot of facets. Atheletes, celebrities and yes plenty of porn stars. What she posts is on par with a SI swim suit issue to maybe a mix of a Victoria Secret book. She?s said it herself- she could go that route like some and pull in 5-600k a month. I?m sure she could field a fuel car pretty quick with that. She?s a grown woman and I doubt anyone is exploiting or forcing her. Just saying, we all know plenty of males in motor sports with way more funding and assets and much less talent or success. Sorry, not trying to rant just interesting reading when people judge others I guess. |
Re: S** Sells
OK, update to my opinion.
I was telling my wife about it and she said I better do some research because they changed the platform.. As of Oct 2021, they do not allow sexual explicit material. "OnlyFans remains committed to the highest levels of safety and content moderation of any social platform. All creators are verified prior to being able to upload any content to OnlyFans, and all uploaded content is checked by automated systems and human moderators." BTW. My original opinion came from a situation we had about 5 years ago with a friend of my oldest daughter. She had a page and it was full of nudes. She was 18. We as parents were a little alarmed about it. Glad to see the platform has changed! BTW2. She also told me she was thinking about selling sexy photos to buy a Benz. I said do it but you will be using that money for rent. :) :) |
Re: S** Sells
Dawson, you too can be on only fans, and maybe you can make videos yourself slingin some ?Bling Sauce?!
Hey $20 bucks is $20 bucks! Love ya buddy Tim |
Re: S** Sells
Back in 1999 the Jim Dunn/Frank Pedregon FC was sponsored by Penthouse. I actually have the diecast model. Its all about the Benjamins, if they pay, it goes on the car.

Re: S** Sells
Dawson, there's no way I could race without my "Trophy Husband" status....
|
Re: S** Sells
Dawson, you know I love your online presence and super appreciate the DragInsights shout-out as well as your ongoing support.
This sounds pretty judgy and preachy. As the only woman weighing in on this thread...we're literally damned if we do and damned if we don't at every turn. How this lady chooses to run her business is not my style but yeah...the days when racers could only make money in the sport by leveraging their race success are over. Hell I turned a completely mediocre and short racing career into a business. :) Hugs! |
Re: S** Sells
Everyone has focused on the sex side of it. Here's a different prospective that I learned.
I was going to open a micro distillery, I built my first still when I was 14 and have ran a still up until a few years ago as I pretty much gave up drinking. However, when I made it and people tasted it and said I should go into business so I did research. Very long and expensive journey later I learned "it's not about your product, it's about marketing". An instructor (master distiller) asked a guy in class "you sell this?" when the answer was yes he asked "ever sell someone a second bottle"? In other words, if you have good marketing, you product (liquor or racing or roofing) isn't as important, stuff will sell with the right marketing. |
Re: S** Sells
Dawson and I had a conversation yesterday about this. he said that it came up on his FB feed. i said that i did not see it on face book. he said, Dad you dont have face book. i said, ding ding ding we have a winner.
i am still trying to figure out how this affects him in any way. live and let live man. ep- great insight Alecia. |

Mark, Alicia You guys completely overlooked the point of my post. While yes, I do believe selling yourself and having a pornography site as you main sources of income is, at the very least, unbecoming, that's not the point I was trying to make. I only mentioned the porn because I found it interesting and trashy. The point I was trying to make, which is the second to last paragraph before the "FYI" is that I'm sick of seeing all the talent that exists in class racing overlooked in favor of a pretty face. I race against the best racers in the country week in and week out, folks that deserve to have the spotlight, that are talented and have dedicated there lives to the craft. People that have not created a fake internet following by paying meta to boost their social media posts. That's why I added her draginsights data for reference. At the end of the day, everybodies got to make a living, do what you have to do, but don't sponsor posts that show up in my FB feed and pretend your some great racer because you have a lot of sponsorships. You aren't, and I have the receipts. |

Ya know Dawson, about a million years ago when Jeff Gordon was just coming up he had an interview (you could probably find it) in which he said something to the effect of "I'm not the best driver out there, the best drivers never get found. I was just lucky." |

Marketing Partners in all of Motorsports today, care about social media presence first and foremost and anything else a distant second.
I say good for her, use whatever advantage you have to get sponsors. |
Re: S** Sells
Sponsors do not necessarily revolve around winning race. It's all about exposure for the sponsor. Kenny Bernstein once said about his Budweiser King FC, I may or may not win the race but the fans and sponsors will definitely will remember that we were here. It all about presence. jmho

She’s also not the first class racer to bring sex and pornography as a sponsor.

During the time I was active, I looked at hundreds - maybe thousands - of computer graphs. I could instantly see who was never going to be a winner and who had skills above all. One amazing graph I saw back in the 4 speed days was a driver who was over/under the shift points for all 3 changes by less than 20 rpm. Yes, that's adding them all together. I can think of at least 3 drivers who were at the very top in skill but things never fell into place for them to truly fund their program. And a larger number than that with stout sponsorship deals that made me wonder how that happened. Going back years, it's been that way even though you're noticing it now. I'm not going to spend the time to give a lot of thought to it, but offhand I'm having a problem thinking of many drivers/teams who made it to the big time simply by being really good at racing. Sad but true. |

Re: S** Sells
Pleasure is a powerful stimulant that can easily lead to it being a vice which can lead to addiction. The sponsor in question is just another gateway to loss of balance in life. It?s anti-family and particularly exploits women and young girls into convincing them (in many cases unwillingly) that they have an ?advantage? in using their ?assets? and it will equate to success or perhaps wealth however fleeting that may be. Ones that think any such advantage is fairly seized or that it?s victimless might think differently if their daughter or granddaughter went down that path. NHRA is now promoting gambling, just another victimless vice so doubt they have qualms about such sponsorship. One of the things I enjoy about racing is the shared relationships, and we are lifted up when others lend a hand or encourage us. This is not about any of that, it?s selfish pursuit of pleasure/success regardless of cost or those that are victimized in the process. In racer speak it?s the moral equivalent of a matty box. Off the soap box….

Re: S** Sells
That’s deep but I say there are no victims only willing participants. OF isn’t exploiting anyone that didn’t chose to be for $, a lot of $ for some.

There has been plenty of good advice given in this thread. The above is the best you're going get, take it & run with it; I'm sure you will! As for sponsorship(s) or marketing partners sometimes they come in different forms. I have mainly been blessed with my financial backers/supporters & race car owners. It started with my rookie year winning a track championship (foundation), many...many moons ago. I continued to be a consistent above average racer for over 35+ years now. Anyway, get creative with promoting your race program. I started with the local news channels & newspapers. Then got some regional sports network recognition & some limited national exposure. Build your foundation, do some creative self-promotion, get your name out there, drive many different race vehicles, just to name a few items. While I was grateful for my traditional sponsors/marketing partners. The best part of my racing program was my financial backers/supporters & a close 2nd was the car owners I drove for. I never understood why some of my supporters or car owners did what they did for me. They never wanted anything in return, didn't want any recognition! They just wanted B King to be successful. Thanks for all the support/backing over many...many years! I wish you the best in your future racing endeavors. You're a breath of fresh air to CR. Keep up the good hard work & great things are coming your way! Patience ............ 1700/781L |
Re: S** Sells
When it comes to the Pro categories whether it be NHRA or Nascar sometimes the best drivers don't make it there in favor of another driver that brings the funding to the party. Listening to the Dale Jr podcast over the last couple years has helped me realize how much this effects drivers getting their chances depending on their relationships and the sponsorship money they bring with them. It may not always be the case but is more times than not.
