New Horse Power Ratings

Where are they ??? When Nitro and Wesley did them we had them by now. Why do we not have them out???

Tony Janes 07-08-2011 08:48 PM

Re: New Horse Power Ratings

After Joliet, probably next week.

Re: New Horse Power Ratings

Should of been out by now , now there will be a bunch of bougus runs . When do we start second session ???

David Ley 07-09-2011 04:20 AM

Re: New Horse Power Ratings

Tony is correct. Joliet is the 11th race ( Half way ) . It is done after the first half of the season.

As Dave said, Joliet is the half way race. It finished up Sunday. I'd expect approximately a week delay. So they should be out next week. Give or take a week.

I am not sure about this, but a rumor that I made up some time ago is going into fruitation.

After Joliet, the head honchos in Glendora are going to bring out their best friend, who is the Horse Power Fairy.

Remember the three tenths they removed a while back? Oh yea, I remember. Well now they just add the tenths back and compare it to how you ran back then. (This is not counting the incremental times for all runs.) After they calculate the difference, they have a good baseline where you really are. Ta Daa...........Fairy dust a coming.

You guys are in too much of a hurry, how about on the 12th of never. I like that date.

NHRA usually gives out the news on Fridays's... Gives racers the weekend to settle down and gives NHRA a weekend of having to not field complaints. Let's see if the trend continues?

Re: New Horse Power Ratings

As Ken has announced in his "news" section they are now out (just in time for Woodburn!); not the summary list yet so you have to go to your own combo in the classification guide to check (yes, I checked DP and CJ cars out of curiousity but I'll let those with vested interest in those combos chime in). Good news, my combo didn't get hit, bad news it didn't get HP removed.

CI 281 232hp is SS only Jason.

What kind if system for HP do you guys want? 15 years ago you all cried about how the old HP system was not fair. So NHRA came up with what it has now. Now you all cry about this system. THERE IS NO FULL PROOF SYSTEM FOR HP.

Using the system we've got in conjuction with a little common sense couldn't hurt!

I agree 100% Billy. But no matter what group of people you were to put in charge others would complain about them not being fair and this guy favors this div and so on. People will cry no matter what system you have in place.

Charley, How do they lower the hp on your 281ci.motor in SS, In Nitro Joe`s book no 281 listed in SS. You ran it SS IHRA. Tom

It's the new unwritten cross over rule.

Kevin, I looked it up SS/L, he only made one run that counted on the AFHS -.234.Tom

Re: New Horse Power Ratings

Let me see if I understand this. You take a brand new underrated "Stocker" and run it in Super Stock. Run only -.234 under ( according to the criteria this run should not even count) the index then write a letter to get the HP reduced and the powers that be go for it. Yeah, the system works. What a bunch of dupes NHRA has working for them! I think I get it now. Jim:eek:

Charlie, let there be no doubt you are my daily hero for exposing the NHRA corruption. I thank you for that. Can you go one step further and ask for a reduced tax rate while you're on this role? You got hot metal...Don't stop hitting it! ;)

Ford is the official vehicle of NHRA, that's how you lower the horsepower. You guys on here care about stock and super stock racing but the NHRA suits care about money. If you want your horsepower lowered, try attaching a check next time you write them a letter.

Those HP increases didn't do much to slow down the Mustangs. Cour's AA/SA car is sitting Number 1 right now at Woodburn.
