Bring this old thread back up, looks like alot of good info. I continue to collect parts for my 85 gt.

If you are going to build a 85 5.0 4 barrel Mustang for Stock, I sold my 85 a few months ago, and although the buyer did get the car with the Stocker engine, he is just going to bracket race it with an automatic, so I still have some extra stuff left over. I know I have several sets of E5 core cylinder heads, at least 1 or 2 correct 4 barrel intake manifolds, several 4180 carbs, and EGR/spacer plates and heat shields etc. If you wanted to run it, I also have the factory dual snorkle cold air air cleaner assembly with the ram air tubes. What type of clutch & trans do you plan to run?

Is s/s a viable option for these cars?

Looks like edelbrock is the head, and its offered with 2 different exhuast ports?

What manifold is allowed?

Good luck on your build. I ran my 85 at Milan last week. My motor is a stocker that I bought for $250 to get the car on the road. My buddy gave me some 1.7 roller rockers so I put those on. It also has a 1/2" intake spacer. I call it my wanna-be stocker. Its not fancy or a show car by any means but I have fun with it. It's a pretty simple setup in my opinion. The DA was about -100' on this pass. I included a link at the bottom which is a video of my car. Also, I have a few other ideas for it so it should be in the 12's soon- without touching the motor. It weighs 2760lbs race ready minus driver.

It went:
1.81-60'
5.293-330'
7.724-594
8.268 @ 82.71mph-660'
12.61-1254'
13.05 @ 101.45-1320'

Nice Fox.
Only one problem. It's so far away from a Stocker, it's not even funny.

The 86 e5ae heads were a 1 year deal but they mage 2 different versions the ones that were put on 302-s hade 7/16 bolt holes and the ones that went on 351-s had 1/2 inch bolt holes but everything else is the same but either way they are junk they will not flow even close to what nhra says because of the pollution junk that's cast in them
