Thermoquads
I have two Thermoquads on the shelf in the shop.
One is a 6545S 167 7, probably came new on a 1980 Dodge 1 Ton 360. The other is a 6453S 318-7, may have come from Ed Hamburger back in the day. Are either one of these anything special that should be placed in the right hands? Thanks, Bill Lamb 4340 SS/BS |
Re: Thermoquads
6453 came on 1974 360 federal automatics, 6545s came on 74-77 440 truck engines. They are both 1 1/2 primary carbs. Maybe the 360 carb might be worth something to someone running a 360.

Re: Thermoquads
They are legal for 360/400/440 but not 340/318.
They are both fairly common. |
Re: Thermoquads
Rod and John,
Thanks for the info. I found one more (in a Holley box) that is labeled that it came off the 1980 DRW Dodge 1 ton 360. It is a 9292S 109 0. It does have an emissions valve of some sort on it the others don't have. Thanks! Bill |
Re: Thermoquads
Probably an altitude Compensator. It can be easily plugged
Just one more reason I use earliest possible carbs. |
Re: Thermoquads
According to my info a 9292 is a small primary carb 1980 360 truck.

Re: Thermoquads
All the parts are pretty common except 1971 Carbs.
I have over 200 of the Thermoquads. WhenJon was 4 or 5. He had a wagon and I gave him a wallet fun of 5 dollar bills and he bought all be could find for 5 dollars at Pomona Swap meet every month! Several of the Div. 7 racers remember dealing with him they tell me. |
Re: Thermoquads
[QUOTE=340Cuda;611684]Yes it came off a 1980 one ton I used to have. However I am pretty sure it has the 1.5" primaries.
The book I have says 1 3/8 which I thought was odd most 360's were 1.5 pretty easy to tell just by looking. I would be interested to know so I could correct my list. |
