Aerospace brakes
 

I've been fighting these front calipers for 2 years now with drag. A lot of drag. Then I notice Aerospace has a picture of a master cylinder showing front lines are the port farthest from the firewall. Have I been running these wrong all along? After market Strange master cylinder. Any help?

Front M/C outlet goes to the front brakes, port closest to the firewall goes to the rear.
I would suggest installing the Strange brakes in place of the Aerospace unit.
Strange uses a "square" oring seal on the caliper pistons that flexes back somewhat when brake pressure is released and reduces drag.
Not knocking Aerospace Components here, But as a chassis builder I have seen what systems seem to work best and most reliably.

On the Chrystler master I remember that the rear port was tied to the front brakes on my camaro without any problems . The easiest way to fix your problems is to throw those Aero brakes in the trash can and give Roger Lamb a call 909-985-1901.

If the rotor and caliper stay where they are supposed to you dont need that much piston return for there to be no rotor to pad contact when the brakes are released . And many companys including some OEM use a square seal so the piston returns more . Is that the best design ? debatable . No matter what you do take those Aero's off and find the closest trash can .

Terry, getting too damn old to swing much of anything anymore. As to the brake problem....I've helped guys put the Lamb brake set up on... I've helped put Strange setups on...and I've helped put Aerospace set ups on. Lambs are without a doubt the best I've seen. I had to change out a set of Aerospace rotors and calipers in Atlanta and it was a mess. Nothing fit, had to shim everything this way and that. Know a lot of guys who race the Strange brakes with no problems. Anytime I've contacted Aerospace in the past it was never any of their problems, always something " I did". I may not be Austin Coil, but I've picked up a few things over the years.

i had some issues with aerospace UNTIL...

i contacted thier support line, eventually i was hooked up with a design engineer, plumbed it the way suggested and now they seem to work pretty darn good...

i use all four wheels, with dual calipers in rear

Just like the tooling crash mark in the bore of my AERO caliper was somehow my fault ...I remember being told that I must have caused that when i removed the piston and that because i had dissasebled it there was no way they could tell when it happened . whatever they are ****... you get what you pay for

Lamb is the only way to go! They will ask for your spindle and machine them so they are square to the rotor. No drag at all and they stop my 3800 pound car with ease.
