Roxboro Combo Season Opener
 

This Saturday is the first race of the 8 race Rockett Brand Race Fuels Stock/Super Stock combo series at Roxboro Dragway in Roxboro, NC. This year the season long points champion will be determined by the best 6 out of 8 races. All races will be the second Saturday in the month except for two months. (June & Sept. I think...refer to the schedule on their website) Entry fee is $75 w/ 100% pay back. The gates will open at 1 pm and time runs begin at 3 pm. Everyone gets 2 runs and go racing. Lets continue to show our support to Allen, Jerry and Henry as these guys have provided us a place to "class race" for 4 years.

Look forward to seeing you there Brandon. In regards to the MIR double...Allen waited until the IHRA schedule came out before finalizing this schedule. We try to schedule these events the same weekend every month to make it consistant so racers can plan on being at Roxboro the second Saturday in every month. Obviously that doesn't always work out because of division 9 schedule (Roxboro's home division) and local national events like Rockingham. Outside of that the schedule has to be set up to not conflict w/ special events that Roxboro has going on. Although there may be a couple of racers that regularly attend Roxboro's monthly event the vast majority won't go to MIR that weekend. The only other option would be to not have a race this month and the local racers would rather have the combo than to worry about races scheduled 2 states away. There are quite a few that race this series that only race once a month as they don't have vacation time to travel to IHRA/NHRA races so we have to think about them as well. Those are the folks that support us every month.

Those "$100.00 +" fuel fill ups make Roxboro look real good---- I hope they will continue---thanks to all involved.

Your exactly right Rusty...very rarely can you fill up for $100 anymore. With the support of all the local class racers we can keep these races going. I hope you can make it to a few our races this year!

Yes Scott, I still sell fuel. Don't forget that whoever wins gets a free 5 gallon pail of their choice 111, 114, or 118.
