Accurate Info Needed
I am reading on another site where guys are saying that some of the original Darts and Cudas built with HEMI's in 68 did NOT come with the larger rear wheel wells and some did NOT have fiberglass hoods. Myself,I never saw any that did not with what I just mentioned....
Congrats to Tony and Hot Rod for re-setting the S/SB record again. |

I PMed you an email address for Stewart Pomoroy who is an unofficial Chrysler historian. Hopefully he will confirm the following. All the 68 Cudas and Darts by Hurst had glass hoods. All the Darts had the outer wheel openings raised while the Cudas were left stock. |
Re: Accurate Info Needed
There was a flap a few years ago where an eastern racer & NHRA had differences about this.
The cars were delivered to the shop that built the SS/AA cars and had the small whel wells and were then modified. IThe guy produced pictures from the fab shop showing small wheel wells and NHRA let them race.....as I recall..... |
Re: Accurate Info Needed
My dad owned one of these cars and they did come with a lift off glass hood from Chrysler. He wasnt sure on the wheel openings. We are looking for pictures of his origional car before the moved stuff around.
