Ryan Koener Good News and Bad News
 

The Good News:
Ryan Koener won the National Dragster Challenge Top Sportsmans race at Route 66 yesterday.


The Bad News:

Ryan crashed at the finish line, the car took a hard turn in to the wall and then up and on it's roof.

Ryan is fine with no injury's at all. The car has heavy front end damage and the roof bars are ground flat from skidding on his roof panel.

I am so sorry this happed to Ryan and Shelli... they are both great people.
The main thing is Ryan is ok!!!

Thanks everyone for your concern. Thankfully I am fine. The car on the other hand. Needs a lot! We unloaded it today and started looking at the damage. I think the first thing we are going to do is get the motor off to Schmidts to make sure it is ok. Then we will talk to RJ about the chassis.

Well, thankfuly I am not as stiff and sore today as I thought I would be! I have a sore spot on one of my legs (I think from my belts) and my tail bone hurts a little. But all and all I feel fine. Just proves it is a good thing we have all the great safety equipment we have. I am glad I wear a HANS!

Thanks! The car is pretty bad, not totaled but bad. Just by looking at it, it is going to need a front half, some cage repair, new roof, new front end (although we have the '97 front end that we can use), new windows, repair one door, repair one quarter and lots of parts and pieces.

I wouldn't look to see it back out anytime soon. I would be very happy if we have it out towards the end of the season. But there is a chance it may not happen until next year. We have lots of diapers to buy!
