what would you guys do?

Ok I'm down to doing the short block on Marissa's Street/Strip car. Here's what I have so far...81 Z-28 3.42 gear & posi...350 turbo trans with a 2.75 low gear & Rev man valve body B&M Hole-shot converter. The heads are a set of 993 gasket matched & bowl blended with screw in studs SS valves 1.52 Comp Mag tip rockers. Intake is Performer with Q-jet...cam is a Comp 270 Mag. Now for the short block what I have is a .40 over 350...What would you do? I've seen kit out their to make it anywhere from a 357 to a 385...their's a 365 kit too? I want the car to run in the 13's on pump gas. Now all the stuff I have already done I'm NOT changing so the vortec heads & differant cam is not happening! What I'm looking for is the pro's & con's of say a 385 over a 357. the "kits" are all about the same money. the 365 "kit" look good too . would you go with a 5.7 or 6.0 rod for the street? This car will be about a 50/50 split between street & strip action. Thanks for any input!

Greg,
I have a used set of 6.0 rods(H beam) and a 3.750 crank if your interested. Spun three bearings the worst rod was recon. and looks good, crank needs welded up and turned( 4340 forged) make ya a hell of a deal. Pistons are 4.145 so they won't work...............

Greg,
Go for the cubes. You'll have to clearance the block with an I beam rod and a 3.750 stroke crank but thats easily done. I have what you need call me. A 3.480 stroke crank or a 3.750 stroke crank cost the same money. The pistons are a little more money but you have a connection remember?

I also agree with going for the cubes. Remember the old saying, "There is no Substitute for Cubic Inch".
