tinted windows on a stocker?
i know the rulebook says clear windows & factory tinting only...but what if a car (my grand national) already has the windows lightly tinted ( lets say 25% or less:D) just how strict are they on this rule, really don't wanna scrap the the stuff off, cuz the car is black & hot & it really helps, don't wanna be dq'd for over something so simple either....any input appreciated

Re: tinted windows on a stocker?
I live in Arizona were I'll bet it get's hotter than D4. I was at a National event, passed tech with my AF/S Shelby when later on Danny Gracia (Nat'l Tech Director) walked up and said he would let me race as soon as I cleared off the tinting. So I grabbed a razor and some windex and off it went! Mind you, not without a little disgruntlement under my breath, but he's the man!
The reason they don't like tint is it makes it harder to see what the driver may be up to. That would usually mean "no good". |
