1/8 mile or 1000' is fine with me. 1/4 mile takes up to much of my day, I like to start on the ice colld adult beverages sooner than most.

I enjoy both 1/8th and 1/4-mile racing. Granted, 1/8th mile, you're still accelerating significantly, but most cars don't do a whole lot from 1000' on. I think 1000' would be fun for something different.

Hell @ the little track dad races @ the "bracket-1" cars just run to the 330'! My car runs 4.90's 5.00's makes it sound FAST! LOL :)

I can see the logic in running pro cars to 1/8 or 1,000', but not sportsman cars. I sincerely hope they do not make this change.

Depends on the car IMO. The stocker does fine up to 1000 ft, then it's out of breath. The '65 on the otherhand does great in the first 100 ft. and builds additional momentum approx 800 ft through the 1320 with a few ft to spare. I still think racing to the stripe in a 1/4 is more fun than to the 1/8 due to higher speed.

Shortening races to 1000' isn't a long term fix for fuel cars. And it only forces sportsman racers to adjust tune-ups, possibly their combos, most likely at a cost. I still think the real solution is engine, fuel, and clutch restrictions in the fuel classes.

Besides, safely going 330 mph in 4 seconds is an oxymoron.
