Classic Car Insurance

I posted this on DRR but after the fact thought I might be better suggestions from the Stocker crowd...

I interested in getting what I've heard called "Classic Car Insurance" on our 1968 Dodge Dart as well as on our 1967 Dodge Coronet Wagon.

Both cars are registered, tagged and street legal, and not technically drag cars. Any recommendations on what company or agency to go through to get insurance special for classic cars?

Dick is a very good source. I have my trailers, and race cars insured with him. I do have my vettes insured with Hagertys. But, probably will change that to Kincade when i comes due. Very good guy.

Starting at the age of 22 I started buying and collecting and insuring muscle cars. In NH, I used Condon and Skelly. For a list of all the companies that really want to be in the business, buy a hemmings motor news and use it for extra ballast after you are done with it.

I use Stone insurance in CT for the race cars and enclosed trailer for racing, I really like how you are covered for all events except actually going done the track, or driving on the street. Don't know how it compares to Kincaid Bill is also a racer.

Collector car insurance: All that I have used require you to garage the vehicle, you leave it out, and it gets stolen, I think you are out of luck. Miles you can drive will vary from firm to firm. Check around

I use Condon and Skelly for one lil red race truck(restorable) for fire, theft, but not liability.

I live in MA so I I use Grundy for my Challenger RT/SE and for my 72 challenger dragcar......they are restorable, so I view them as future restoration projects/investments. And it is nice to put around the block in a stocker challenger(with mufflers and street tires), with plates and a sticker....with liability insurance if something happens. If the torsion bar adjustment package gets back in the Challenger in time, it will be at Epping again in ET, the dakota in stock.

No millage limit, not that it applies to my current cars, but it made a difference in the past. Try Grundy. Haggerty didn't like my "mildy modified/restorable" cars.

Good luck

Eric
