Columbus Sportsnationals
So who all is coming this weekend? There's only 50 super stockers and 44 stockers pre-entered. I know you can also enter at the gate for $25 extra . With all the bad weather and high price of fuel, maybe that is all that is coming. The remnants of Hurricane Ike came thru western KY on Sunday with lots of wind, but not any rain which we could have used. We only had limbs down and power out for about 18 hours. We just pulled the motorhome out into the driveway and spent a nice evening watching tv as usual. Just ran extension cords to the refrigerators and freezer and made it thru fine. Talked to Jerry Bennett this afternoon and he still didn't have power and lost everything in his fridge.
Well we should see ya'll at Columbus on Thursday and will let you know what's happening then. Patsy |

Re: Columbus Sportsnationals
I was told from a company in Newark, OH that there is power out in a large area and forcasts for getting power back are wide spread (2 days to Sunday). Also, a large group of electric power workers from Ohio were sent down to Texas to help there leaning out the staff in Ohio. Keep your fingers crossed.

Re: Columbus Sportsnationals
larry, you were lucky
louisville had over 300,000 without power, still 234,000 today > projected return of power is still 10 days out... 40% of electrical workers were on loan to texas / louisiana. state of emergency declared > natioanal guard is mobile to assist with traffic / shelter security. gas is possible for rationing as about 50% of stations are without power and those with are ruinning out of gas. dont think me of MJ will make it, however he says his rig is full of diesel best of luck and keep us posted with the LIVE updates jack mccarthy p.s. booboo... nobody, nowhere, throws a race like NPR's sportsnationals... epecially NHRA |
Re: Columbus Sportsnationals
I finally got my power back on today (Tuesday)
The storm packed 75 mph winds here and it took down trees and power lines all over the place, we lost electric around 6:30pm Sunday. Nitro Lounge did it's job running things in the house and having a shower to use. I heard down in Granville (North of track) Newark and easy side of Columbus got hit hard. Big thing is i can not imagin what its like having 110 mph winds when i thought it was real bad at 75 mph here. |
Re: Columbus Sportsnationals
I just made a reservation at the KOA at Buckeye Lake and they had their power back on by Monday morning. Sun's out, things should be all dried up by Thursday.
