Stock legal valves for 5.0 mustang?

When replacing the stock valves on E7TE heads, what is the prefered choice of brand? Any pros/cons on valve seals? Anything else to think about? Not looking to break any records, just want to use the proper parts and make it work as good as possible.

Thanks!

Manley:

Intake: P/N 11572-8
Exhaust: P/N 11523-8

Ferrea:

Intake: P/N F6261
Exhaust: P/N F6260

There are differences of opinion in the use of valve seals; myself, I prefer to use them. Hope this helps.

I like Ferreas, but if you need to have them cut down, have Ferrea do it. I think they charged 5 dollars a valve, and machine shop would be more. REMEMBER to DOUBLE CHECK the valves for size after they are cut, no matter who cuts them down.
Read the last sentence again. VERY IMPORTANT.

Especially after what happened to Evan Smith.

Also check Manley exhaust valves, they are also too big.

Do those have the exhaust keeper groove in the higher position like the intakes or older 289-302 valves?

I do not know about the Ferreas, however, the Manley's don't since they are for rail type rockers.

I have been using REV Valves with no failures. They are much more reasonable than Ferrea and more user friendly. They didnt charge me to cut down the valves for my engine.

Thanks to everybody for your input on this!
Another question on this subject is if sleeves should be used in the heads when replacing the valves?

I assume your are talking of bronze liners in the guides. Yes, they can be used; make sure the machine shop has the appropriate reamers and knows how to do it.

Yep, you are correct, those are the ones I mean. You say they can be used, but is it necessary? Any pros/cons on that?
