Bruton's Son Said Some VERY Interesting Things....
 

on Dave Despain's 'Wind Tunnel' show a couple of Sunday evenings ago.

Did anyone else here catch any of that?

I was unable to hear the last half or so of the conversation as I was around people that like to talk during the programs but are silent suring the commercials (doesn't that drive you crazy like it does me,lol?)

At any rate......Despain does a really good job of cutting through the bull, he gets guests that do the same (Robin Miller for ex) and I gotta say he really devotes a good amount of time to drag racing even though his show covers virtually all forms of motorsports. He had a GREAT interview or segment on Mickey Thompson a while ago...

At any rate he had Bruton's son in the studio with him, Dave just flat out asked him straight up if the rumors were true that Bruton was trying to buy the NHRA. I was pretty suprised that the younger Smith didn't try to deflect the question and said 'We have had an offer on the table for several years..."

I missed the rest.

He "danced" around the question but didn't really deny anything. I had taped it and went back the next day and watched it several times and nothing definite was said either way. All that he said that they had been a long standing offer.
