drag race photos, new style from the pits and lanes
I really have enjoyed the series of photos you fellows have posted lately. It is a very nice change from the starting line only photos. Being able to see details of paint, wheels, tires, and other equipment is very interesting to me. And I enjoy putting a drivers face with his name and car.
I encourage this photo method and offer a suggestion the will even further increase the interest level. When allowed by the owner, shoot the engine compartment, interior, and trunk. I always enjoy seeing details of how racers have mounted components, wiring job, control switches, fuel system details, etc. Their are many talented builders/racers at out tracks, let's continue to enjoy the fruits of their labors. This style of photo shooting might be a good niche market. I know that if someone approached me with some quality still photos I would buy them. |
Re: drag race photos, new style from the pits and lanes
You make a good point. A racer friend of mine suggested the same thing to me. While I'm not a professional and do it to be a part of drag racing. My main purpose for shooting our events is so the drivers can see their cars in action, but more importantly people who couldn't/didn't attend can get a sense of being there. Pics like yuo have suggested would further cement that feeling.
