Little known tidbit from the LODRS event in Noble this weekend.....

Friday morning the DeFrank's opened the trailer door to find a broken rear spring on Jimmy's 69 Camaro B/SA car. From the announcing deck we put out a call for HELP, but honestly, a rear spring for a 69 Camaro isn't a piece you carry an extra one of "just in case."
Well, Tony Wood stepped in and said I don't have them hear, they're in Tulsa (2 hours away). Discussion ensued and come to find out Tony had them for a car being built and they were the same that the DeFrank's used on their 69.
So off they go to Tulsa to pick up springs...... Tony misses 1st rd of qualifying in his Chevelle and obviously Jimmy does too.
4+ hours later (up and back) and now to install. Got them in and both drivers made second round of qualifying late Friday.
Tremendous act of SPORTSMANSHIP, especially when you consider that all total there were only 3 rounds of qualifying before eliminations began.
I've said it before, as have others, it's the PEOPLE that make this sport truely what it is, and Tony Wood was a shining example this weekend.

Tip o' the cap to Mr. Wood! Just wish his Dad had made it down for the weekend too.
