Q Jet Needle and Seat

Is the largest needle and seat available the .149? With all the talk about the difficulty in keeping fuel in the bowl of our q-jets, certainly someone somewhere has designed a larger needle and seat than the .149.

I am not a class racer, but rather a stock appearing racer so I have more latitude on what I can do internally and externally to the carb, but much less latitude on how I plumb my fuel system. In a nutshell, I have to run "through" the stock pump, and "through" that factory 3/8" line to the carb, but from the factory pump back its no holds barred.

I just think it would be a big help if someone made a larger needle and seat. Like a lot of other guys, I have fought a lean condition with this carb forever.

Also, I run a front inlet '73 800CFM Buick carb. Any pointers on how to make the 90 degree turn from the inlet to the needle and seat more efficient?

Great site and thanks for all of the ideas I have already picked up from all of you.

Thanks for the compliment Dave but right now I have laryngitis and won't be speaking to anyone until probably next week. You know the old saying," When you talk you're saying something that you already know, but when you listen you might learn something." I can use some extra smarts. Danny

I guess thats what I'm asking too. I run a .149 and want to make sure there is not a better alternative.

Also, cant a bigger needle and seat be made for the qjet or is there some reason that it wouldnt be feasible? Or am I barking up the wrong tree again?

Danny, I will give you a jingle next week when you are feeling better.
