Re: brainded fuel line
My experience shows two years to be completely safe. Somewhere during the 3rd or 4th season, leaks happen. [depends on fuel and quality of hose]
My last two build ups I have used the "push lock" style hose. I do not yet know the service life but it sure is easy to work with, plus, I like the look. Especially the black fabric covered series. |
Re: brainded fuel line
Hey Vic on my mustang i put it on there in 97 when i built the car. Had one leak where when welding on the car it had a piece of slag hit it, other than that didnt have any issues. I did change it a few years ago when i put the training wheels and fuel cell in it and went with the prolite style hose. You can use all your regular fittings with it its a nylon braid, so its lite and wont scratch things up. I also went from #8 to #10 from the fuel cell all the way to the carb. We sell it and its pretty cheap, if you email me a list i can put some pricing together for you. Probly cheapier than some of the mail order companies too. Just email me if you need some help. Duane

Re: brainded fuel line
Vic,
I'll just say that most of the braided steel hose on our car has been there ALOT longer than 97. The only place it has ever started to leak was through lines that ran from the regulators on the fenderwell to the carb, over the headers. It just started to ooze through the braiding. Good Luck, Bill |
Re: brainded fuel line
I'm using braided fuel line that is teflon linded instead of rubber, I believe as long as you keep it away from the headers it will last a long, long time.
Thanks |
Re: brainded fuel line
Braided line where it was under multiple manipulations to move out of the way for engine work, header change resulted in BIG leak and replacement. Over five years use to that time...
