Ron to do it correctly you will actually need to run 2 positive cables to the back of the car,one from the front battery to the kill switch, and one back to the solenoid connection from the kill switch. ..... ,so the shut off switch kills both batteries. ......I prefer to run them inside the car,if possible ,away from the exhaust and eventual oil that will get on them. .......You can get some real nice bulkhead electrical terminals from Jeg's that eliminate holes with grommets............The rear firewall can be screwed ,riveted, or welded, just so it seals the trunk area. .....Tom

Re: stocker battery cable routing

The master shut off in a stocker is on of those grey areas. Some stockers will keep running when the switch is shut off. From what I understand if the trunk battery is only used to operate the cooling system then thats all the shutoff needs to kill. This second battery rule was intented to operate the cooling system only, to stop the practice of racers cooling the cars with cold water at the top staging. In a stocker the charging system must work and we must have a battery up front, so getting some to shut down gets quite complicated.

Most definately check with your Div.Tech director on this, some may look at it differently. If you go to a local track to bracket race, they will check it and you my have to explain it to them.

I run the cable through the trunk- drivers compartment to a insulated lug on the inside of the firewall, then a small gage wire to the switch for the waterpump/fan drive.

Good luck!
