Restoring Interior panels, dash, and upholstery for Super Stock: Got a question?
Hey guys, I need your help. I have 72 Plymouth Duster Bracket car that is currently missing the orginal dash and interior panels necessary to run Super Stock. I don't have plans of running Super Stock anytime soon but I would like to price how much it would cost to get the necessary panels to run one of the Super Stock classes ( Might put the car in SS/A or BM in the future ).
I would like to know how much money I should be looking to spend to get the orginal panels back in the car? And are there any companies that remake these interior panels for a fairly reasonable price? This could really make the interior look great and I would really appreciate any help that you guys can give me. Thanks in advance! Specifically, the car is missing the orginal door panels, interior quarter panels, headliner, and the orginal dash( w/dash inserts etc). |

If you go price Legendary Upholshtery, you will give up pretty fast.
But if you go over to www.moparts.com or www.ForAbodiesOnly.com and look at the ads and ask around you can come up with all the parts you need, ebay is also a possiblity, but I like the other two better. I have a 1974 Duster and when I got it I had the dash stuff, but everything else was stripped out of it. I bought the side window trim off moparts and door panels out of local pick your parts or ecology center out here in SOCAL. I'll also send you a PM with the email address of a guy in KY who has a number of Dusters he is parting out, I got some of my parts from him. |

IMO, I would bite the bullet and buy new stuff from Legendary. I bought a lot of interior items from them for my Coronet. They have good products that fit well.
Problem you are going to have with used door panels is the fact that they are usually warped, material is degrading, have small cuts and scratches, or some other problem. If you aren't lucky enough to find the right color you will have to dye them. Same goes for the dash pad. Are there nice pieces out there? Sure, but chances are you are going to pay the long dollar for the good stuff. |
