What do LS1 guys do for a 2 step?
What do LS1 guys do for a 2 step? I'm using an LS1 coil over plug setup. I'm not using a distributor.

not sure what kind of ECU you are running , but the F.A.S.T. unit has a built in 2-step .
It's not quite as "tight" as I am used to ( MSD on a non EFI application) but it seems to do the job . Mike |
Re: What do LS1 guys do for a 2 step?
I'm running a ViPec ecu. It has a 2 step type feature but it isn't what I want. They are going to work on the firmware to fix it, but I realize they have a lot of other projects in the wings. So I'm ready for plan B.
My least favorite race car electronics are FAST and MSD. I had nothing but trouble with the msd dis 2, had 1 of them go bad, called msd about it. They swore it couldn't be the unit, it must be my install, or something else. After wasting hours on the dyno, with an intermitant problem. I sent the unit back and guess what!! It was bad!!!! The fast system wasn't much better idling at 1500, not wanting to start, changing the timing at will, etc. With absolutly no help from fast. I fire sold both units. Put in the ViPec. The car idles at 800 drives around the pits like a golf cart. If I have to go back to the MSD I will but I pray there is another way to a 2 step. |

If you run the stock coil packs Lingenfelter makes one which is what I'm running.
