Question about 3.2A/1 pants
Since we now are required to wear the safety pants I have a dumb question. Are they designed to be worn over your jeans or cutoffs or not? I know the jackets are but don't know about the pants.

Wear them over anything you want....but nothing nylon.

Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
the RJS pants have an elastic wasteband, zipper and velcro in the front. No provision for a leather belt, however.

Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
Jeff,
I just purchased the RJS pants @ JEG'S in a "large" for Brian... they fit him fine over bermudas, and they have a "strechey" waist band w/ the velcro flap in front. |
Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
Make sure you get a bigger than normal size if you wish to wear shorts or pants under them. I believe I've seen some with zipper on the leg bottoms which would help when wearing jeans I've personally only wore shorts with mine but I can see how your pant legs could bunch up when putting on your race pants. Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
Yeah, I'd wear fairly snug bermuda shorts too. The RJS (and probably other brands) have elastic cuffs that would make it hard to deal with full length pants inside them.

Thanks guys for all the info. I recieved a pair from Santa that were ordered Extra large and were way too long for me (Simpson). Will send back and try again.

Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
I think the rule book says no shorts under the fire pants.

Re: Question about 3.2A/1 pants
I really doubt you can`t were shorts under them. If that`s the case, why allow underwear? Make all the racers go comando under their fire pants. And while you`re at it,shaving would be mandated as well, hair is flamable too! I always wore shorts under mine when I ran S/C.
