glass repair?

Hey guys my car @ 1 time had painted on /SA on the windows...the one on the passenger side glass looks like it was sanded off! is their anyway to fix the scratches? It's one of those deals that if your in the L/H lane looking over @ the finnish line ya look right into the scratches!

A good rule of thumb on glass is if you can feel the scratch with your finger nail then it cannot be polished out.

Tempered glass is very difficult to polish anyway and the amount of effort required is probably not worth it.

Don is correct about the tempered glass. .....Eastwoods polishing kit works well on windshields and older cars with laminated side glass, which is much softer than the tempered glass found in the doors of newer vehicles......We deal with a company that repairs /polishes windshilds on our used cars, and have been told many times nothing can be done for damage on the side glass..........I would think G body glass would be relatvely easy to locate from a salvage yard. .....If you need side glass,I think I may have some from a Monte I cut up for the chassis for my '49 Ford......Tom

The Eastwood kit works well on very small superficial scratches and stains. If it is scratched with sandpaper or a DA you will have to buy new glass, the Eastwood Kit won't get the job done..
