Cool 64 Galaxie, I would have to think that if that thing ever saw much track time, there was a pretty big pile of broken parts behind the garage!

Maybe a parts breaker back then but it would sure be cool to see one running SS now.

I remember that car well, at least the one time I saw it. I'll bet Mr. Floyd took that picture about '77, '78, or '79 at the IRP points meet. On Saturday morning (WCS meets were two days back then) I was standing at the fence next to the left lane water box when the driver dropped the clutch to do the burnout and spit the ring and pinion onto the pavement. The driver was a red haired, red bearded fellow who replaced the factory Cragar bolts with black grade 8, allen-head fasteners to hold the two wheel halves together. It looked really trick with the polished wheels but he went through tech right in front of us and I recall Marty Barrett requiring him to pull a wheel off to inspect the bolts before he would let him through.
