Pomona Hotel Recommendations?
 

I will be flying into Pomona WAAAAY early this year and will need a decent cheap hotel for a few nights. So far I have found a Motel 6 on South Garey Ave. that seems to be within 5 miles of the track & well priced.
Any other places I should check out?

You might also google for motels in Clarimont, Diamond Bar and Glendora all still a resonable
distance from the track, also try Ontario (out by the airport) is a reasonable distance.
Anything within 10 miles would be considered a close distance away from the track.

Of course you will need a rental car. Our bus system is non-existant

Won't be getting a rental car until Tues. 2/3. Will be flying on on Sat 1/31. I need to be as close as possible to mooch rides back and forth from the track, or ride mountain bike....ugh!

Winstonindy -- I've stayed at that Motel 6 -- its very nice and the best bargain in California plus many great places to eat nearby ...............go for it ! ! !

I am already booked there for that Tuesday thru the following Monday after the race. But since I am getting in days before my roomie I though I might do better somewhere else. Now to just find wheels!

Best rates are from the locations at the airports.
Your NHRA membership at least used to offer a 10% discount
with National or Avis. But all of the companies offer a 10%
discount for AAA or AARP members.

Also cheapest rates are usually availiabe over the interent.

Personally I like and use Hertz and Budget.

As of this morning the Motel 6 in Pomona still has openings and outstanding rates. I might be cancelling my reservation as well due to a roommate that just bagged out on me. Puts my trip in the dumper!

Your NHRA membership gives you a 10% discount at Hertz also; for the lowest rates go to Hertz.com and when making the reservation enter the CDP# 1413592. Also, if you are picking up the car at a Hertz location in the Pomona area, you can get an additional $5 per day discount (up to a maximum of $25 total). When making the reservation online, enter PC #121472. I attend 8 or 9 National events per year plus Division 1 events and National Opens and I use Hertz exclusively. I pick up my car at the nearest Hertz location to where I live and drive to the events. I go to Gainesville, Atlanta, Norwalk, and Indy every year from Connecticut, and the fact that Hertz has unlimited mileage is another reason why I don't even consider any other rental company.
