The sooner you can turn the stop on & get in high gear the less time you will be on the stop. |

Re: Baseline T-Stop set up
Another part of the equation is where your starting line chip is.
I run .07 stop on shift to high at 1.0 with a 565 BBC with std Brodix BBC heads. Starting line chip of 5000 to 5600 depending on what the adjusted altitude is. Good Luck with the setup. It takes a few passes to decide just what the car likes and they are ALL different. My 2 Cents |
Re: Baseline T-Stop set up
With the limited amount of time you are trying to loose, dont wad the tire up and put the car flat on its nose. It will not recover the same as a car with a little more zoom. I might try leaving soft, say 5000 RPM and shift to high gear at .01, that might scrub most of your half second of stop time. Then raise your stop RPM and see what it runs. As LITTLE stop as early as possible, be gentle on the load and unload of the suspension for repeatability. That be maybe my 2 non cents worth. Or you could ask the HITTER! Sorry Dude, wherever you are, but you brought this fun on yourself.

Re: Baseline T-Stop set up
5600 leave, then on at .1 for me..then I kill it to almost an idle...Alcohhol injection for me....Like its been said everycar is different..
I think most cars with a gas carb like about 4000 rpm, injected seem to work better much lower... I'm a hitter !!!! (got lots of lumps on my head to prove it)...oh I thought you meant hitting yourself in the head when you do something dumb...Ha... |
Re: Baseline T-Stop set up
If hitting yourself in the head counts as being a hitter I am a professional hitter. I have been drag racing now for 40+ years and have lots of lumps to prove it!!!!
My first trip to race Indy first round was a .001 red light and when I ran it out it ran 9.903. There was lots of hitting and lumps from that one when I saw the slip and I will NEVER forget that one. It still hurts when I think about it!!!!!!!! My 2 Cents |
