Don't worry be happy!
Iv'e been following the threads on this site since the news about NHRA selling the pros came out. I don't have a clue what's going to happen and none of the rest of you do either. I talked to a good friend of mine the other day about this topic and he wqs upset and worried and wanted to know right now what was going on and what did I think was going to happen. I told him what an old friend of mine once told me. Worrying about something you can't change is like paying interest on a debt never owed.
It is interesting to discuss the various possibilities and to try and figure out what's going on, but keep it in perspective. Right now we have more places to race than we did 20 years ago. There are more people having combo races or races like NSCA or points races in 2 organizations or National events in 2 organizations than i can attend. I leave tommorrow for Chicago for 2 races up there, then Stanton , thren back to Norwalk, then skip a weekend and ina row we have St. Louis, Indy, and Columbus. Now that doesn't count 3 or 4 combo races at Bowling Green or Ohiop Valley. Enjoy the racing we have right now. Be glad to see old friends and drink a cold beer or a beverage of your choice and have fun. Greg |
Glad to hear your having so much fun...but us poor southern boys dont have diddly to race till fall.
no Nat opens no divisionals have to wait till fall or drive 800-1000 miles. And IHRA is nowhere close either. Ford-Lite Half the Cylinders & No Carbs |
Greg, that is the best post on the NHRA topic I have seen so far. There has been so much gloom and doom ever since the announcement was made. There is no sense getting all worked up about what is going to happen. Enjoy what we have now and don't worry about it. I know when I go to the races I enjoy seeing my friends that I only see three or four times a year. We all like to sit around with a cold Corona, tell lies, bench race between rounds and just relax. Good luck this weekend, Mike
