ADRL race at HRP?
I just talked to a guy that is at the ADRL (or ARDL, or whatever it is) race at Baytown today. Has anyone heard how that is going to go with NHRA?

Re: ADRL race at HRP?
They supposedly gave in and will run at 50% nitro level. So much for having a pissing contest with Dim Light.

Re: ADRL race at HRP?
Don't know much about ADRL, but my son is there today and he said most of the ProMod guys that normally run IHRA are there. I looked and there isn't very many ProMod cars at the IHRA national event this weekend. ADRL must have something good to offer these guys to switch over.

Re: ADRL race at HRP?
The local pro mods here would probably like it, they only have to make it to half track. They (the local pro mods here) can't seem to make it all the way down the track in one piece very often.

Re: ADRL race at HRP?
I agree. Quiting at half track also. Just about worth the admission price. One local that likes to run with them likes to point out the large crowds, I doubt they would be nearly as big at $30.00 or more a head.
You don't see the stands as full at an NHRA race when they run, and those people already paid. Mostly the spectators don't stay in their seats to watch anything but top fuel and funny car. |
Re: ADRL race at HRP?
There's only 5 pro stock cars at the ADRL race...I think the economy is really going to hurt that class. Look at your #2 points finisher Jeff Dobbins, he's not at either race and he is the best driver in the class.

just a reminder. atleast these guys band together & got their own organization. which happens to be the fastest growing racing organization. Gee what a nobel idea. I wonder if class racers will do the same?[/QUOTE] I really doubt it. Some are going to complain no matter what. |
Re: ADRL race at HRP?
It would appear to me that part of their success comes from having basically NO rules.I didn't even realize that they don't even have to weigh those cars.Is that what Stock and Super Stock should become?
I think forming a SS/S organization will be quite a challange as discussions about what the rules should be take shape.Right now,the NHRA and IHRA rules are not the same.Which rules would the new organization follow?Yet another set of rules? |
