1985 Camaro Aluminum Hood??
 

Anyone heard of an aluminum hood available for the 3 generation Camaros??

I was told that somewhere on this site it was talked about a while ago. Just curious!

I believe its for Firebirds only.

I cannot say for sure but am not aware of any alum camaro hood for 82-92. The alum front impact bumper was made in 82-83 on 6cyl cars. These are highly sought but a jap repop weighs the same or less. The only alum hood I know of was on the firebird as terry says. The fiberglass hood was a 82, maybe 83 hood that came with both fuctional as well as non functional flaps. They were discontinued due to some cracking issues. Have had three of these and they are still floating around if you look for them.

The alum braces can be on 83 z-28s that had the plastic hood too. I had an 83 Z that was an auto crossfire inj car originally and it had these parts on them. I have seen alum firebird hoods also, but have not seen alum hoods for a Camaro.

We have an aluminum hood our Firebird Superstocker but, never saw one on a camaro.

Believe it was 82 only and Canadian production

Camaro was 82 4 cylinder not many around we had them in California for sure
