belle rose - u/sa round one by the numbers

in case anyone cares i am posting the ET slip and a verbal account of my shot at the caddy

3609 5159

.090 .392
1.836 1.704
5.587 5.166
8.801 8.455
76.09 73.88
11.604 11.290
14.000 13.664
93.48 94.98

heres how it played out
bob had a bog and was playing it safe on the tree let me have 3 TENTHS head start (sporting of him eh?)
bob caught me by 330 foot... really > (see numbers)
by 1/8 mile bob was slowing to reel me in (see 1/8mph) and i actually passed him
then ... and i hardly believed it... he drove by me AGAIN !

anyone else ever been passed TWICE in the same race before ?
...that is when i knew he was the fastest man in town

it is a DAMN shame his fastest fuel program had a HUGE bog on the line, it was developed in a much different atmosphere and i think that accounts for the BOG...
what i hate is everone bashing his driving and his combo... he is a CLASS act and has developed more #1 qualifiers than anyone ... especially the many jerkoffs on this forum.

Capn',

Have you started the new campaign to get the "right" intake manifold on your car?

Now that they know who you are, they won't be so quick to say, "no" the next time you ask... :)

Thanks Jack,

Bob must have won the coin toss and taken the lane with the huge tail wind and left you fighting a head wind....

Looks like you made a pretty good run. How was the air? What is the quickest the wagon has been in 60 ft.?

Capt. Jack -- I must agree with you ------- getting passed twice in the same race must have really sucked . On another note -- that intake you're looking for isn't enough -- maybe you can call for a letter from GM --didn't they offer Tri-Power as a "in the trunk" towing option ? If you start now by Indy you'll be using it ! ! !

PS-- That Caddy is bad fast and I can't believe Bob Shaw built one and Billy Nees hasn't......or maybe Billys' will be out at the first points meet this year .

Jack,

Are you running the glide still?

On the pick-up with the weaker engine, with your 1/8 mph I'd run around 8.40's with low 1.7's 60 ft.
