LS series, 6.0 iron block overbore allowance

Tell me about the 6.0 iron block cylinder wall thickness. Is an .030 overbore acceptable for 575 horse combination? [Carburetor, no power adders]

Thanks

I've never sonic checked a 6.0 block, but have seen a report on one that was done. Worst hole at stock 4.000" bore was .098" on non thrust, .295" on thrust side.

.30 over on a Cast Iron LS Truck block is fine.We make over 700 NA Flywheel Horse on one and have never had a problem.

.30 over(4.030) with a 4" Stroke Crank is the Common 408" Combo that just about all LS Builders Sell.

Try to find a pre 2005 (GEN III) version 6.0 block as they do not have the LOMA bosses added in the valley. This will save you approximately 15 lbs of mass.

You can take some 6.0 blocks .060 I ran my old setup .030 over and made over 700 horse and had no problems at all.
