Live from VMP - NHRA Lucas Oil - Division 1
Here it is 9am EST and I'm still sitting at my shop - why you ask - with all the rain coming across the East I thought it was a great idea to at least have new wiper blades on our coach - and here I sit waiting for the parts place to deliver them - so much for speedy delivery .
You just have to ask yourself - should I really be heading down Route 95 to Virginia Motorsports Park with all this green showing every weather screen ? The weather people say some days are looking great and others not so good -- guess it depends on which of the weather people you want to believe . Maybe we can hear from some of the locals in Virginia to tell us what to expect over the next few days . Later , after I get to the track I'll try and post some tidbits from todays test- n - tune........'till then . |
Re: Live from VMP - NHRA Lucas Oil - Division 1
I just left the track. They want to charge crew members $15.00 to enter on Thursday. I am not testing so I left and went to town. 2 crew members, I can go to a campground, have electricity, water and sewer. Its not the money, just the principle.

Gary Parker, You are correct, it is the principal! You have the right idea and more racers should be following your lead. I also can afford to go to the Division racers here in D2 but elected not to becasue they raised the entry fee by $10. I drew the line and will not attend until they at least return the entry fee back to where they were. $150 entry fee was a hard number to swallow as it was.You can call me cheap, but I have principals and I can wait them out until they wake up to the fact that we are in a down ecomony. As it is, there are no national events down this way until 2011 for Stock Eliminator. No need for grade points.

THIS IS THE MOST OVERLOOKED SENTENCE THAT N.H.R.A NEVER THOUGHT OF
there are no national events down this way until 2011 for Stock Eliminator. No need for grade points. |

I was looking at the upcoming Division 3 race in Norwalk. An event pass for a SPECTATOR is $40(includes Pit Pass),but an event CREW pass is $50. Maybe the spectator pass would be cheaper? |
Re: Live from VMP - NHRA Lucas Oil - Division 1
No need for grade points if you want to go to Bristol either this year! I believe that that will be a rule of thumb soon on all National events with the car counts.

Casey,
I thought you lived around or in Florida. You are saying that there are NO National events until 2011 near you.Does that mean there is NO Stock Eliminator at the Gatornationals in 2010? |
Re: Live from VMP - NHRA Lucas Oil - Division 1
Yes, they skip Stock for the next year.

Re: Live from VMP - NHRA Lucas Oil - Division 1
Jack,
I hope your divisonal gets spectators, we had none at the division 3 opener at Indy. There is no advertising or promotions. They need to take a page out of the Bader family book for running and promoting a race. We get more spectators at some local bracket races. But this is par for the coarse when it comes to NHRA, this is absolutely the best racing any fan could see, as well as one of the best car shows, but yet they know nothing about it because NHRA does not promote or advertise it. |

Can't wait for the dome in Norwalk to be finished.
