Is it legal to notch frame to get oil pan off?

I saw where someone had notched the frame on a nova to get the oil pan off.. is this legal?? I may do my frame that way down the road if it is..

Thanks!

It is legal when done in a specific way. See 2009 Rulebook, page # 106.

Yeh mike its me... How ya doin?

I actually didnt get the super stock nova I was looking at.. It just wasnt worth what the guy was asking for it.. I have a 74 nova that I have footbrake raced for several years that is basically a stocker I just need to give it a little TLC..

Since we only have ine IHRA race in the area now common sense tells me to build a nhra combo.. But wallet says to build a crate motor..

I would rather have a new model camaro if I am going to do nhra stuff... It will be a while before I do any class racing I need to sell my other car...

I was trying to buy paul crowes old car but I cant move the other car yet..

I really just want to do the suspension changes to the nova, do a lot of updating (disc brakes all around, lightened axles, cal tracs, split leaf's and good shocks all around..Plus put the slova on a diet.. it weighs 3650 with me in it!!!)

Mike you coming to clay city?

steve

At least Pro Am thats only time got to race last year.Still like Clay City better than any place else around
here probaly because I raced there so much years ago when was only place to go,close. Is Stan trying to
sell Malibu now, I talked to him a couple weeks ago he said he didn't feel like racing too much work.
