2011 CJ's

Now available with Liberty 5 speed or a good 3 speed. NHRA better get a AAA/S going for the aluminum block version!

It is nice to see any Factory involvement that results in such cool race cars. Too Bad NHRA doesn't have an @#!- in clue how to classify them. :)

maybe this will push nhra to ax the old clutchess trans run in stock & super stock. what do you stick racers think about this to save the dying breed of s -ss stick racers ?????

I don't think I understand exactly what your wording meant, but clutchless transmissions are illegal in Stock and Super Stock. A liberty 5 speed option would be WONDERFUL. Keeping a 327 inside the powerband would be a piece of cake with a 5-speed.

Re: 2011 CJ's

I think the Liberty 5 speed trans they are talking about is a newer version of the Doug Nash 5 Speed. It is not the same transmission as the Liberty 5 Speed the Pro Stocks or Comp guys run. The clutchless transmissions have split sliders(one separate for each gear) and are not legal for Stock or Super Stock. The new Liberty trans based off the Doug Nash 5 speed is the same trans George Wright and Jimmy Ronzello have in their AA/S Cobra Jet Mustang.

will this trans hold up 3200 lbs &10000 ? i broke all the jericos & g forces i could afford in 6 years of stick racing . i think the clutchless rule is outdated & a burden to stick racers.
