cam swap
After some of the comments on previous posts i'm almost afraid to ask this question. Besides the obvious loss of lift, what are the effects of using a cam that was ground for a 1.7 (both in. and ex.) rocker on a set of 1.6 in and 1.5 ex rocker? Can the cam be used? It is brand new and has 840 in and 824 ex with 1.7. The duration at .050 is 285in and 294 ex. At .020 it is 318 and 332. The valve timing at .050 is 28 btdc in. and closes at 76 abdc. The ex is 81 bbdc and 33 atdc. The lobe seperation is 114. Thanks Mike

Re: cam swap
You can use it... but like you said a lot less lift the int alone going from 1.7 to 1.5 goes from 840 to 741! ouch!!

Re: cam swap
Greg: the intake rocker ratio is 1.6. The ex is 1.5. Just curious about the valve timing. I'm trying to sell this cam to someone who might be running both 1.7 ratio rockers. I have a raised cam block now so this cam wouldn't work for me. My friend has the 1.6-1.5 rocker system and i was checking to see if this cam would work in his motor.
