Loss of Dave Edwards
 

On Wednesday, July 22 an auto accident took the life of long time IHRA and NHRA Stock Eliminator racer Dave Edwards (Hamilton Ohio). Dave raced many different MOPAR cars including a beautiful 73 Duster - H/SA (that was also VERY fast), a 79 Aspen (know as Johnny 5), and an AAR Challenger Pure Stocker. Dave is survived by his wife Kay and sons Josh and Jason.

Dave and his car knowledge, sense of humor and friendship will be sorely missed.

This has been a very bad year for the Drag Racing community. I am stunned at this news. My heart goes out to the Edwards family. I know Dave is up there teaching St Peter how to cut a light and telling jokes. God speed Dave Edwards. Jim

Dave was a great guy and real pleasure to be around. He will be missed this weekend espcially. God Speed Dave Edwards.

There are no words to describe the loss of a sportsman, competitor, friend and a brother to me. Dave touched the lives of many and brought humor and cheer to all that he associated with. I could quit racing anytime but it people like Dave that kept me coming back. You will be greatly missed my friend, rest in peace.

Just meet him this Spring and he was a really nice guy. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family as Dave reaches Paradise.
