crane roller cam help

I recently acquired a crane roller camshaft no. R-2118/427-25-8. Can anyone identify or decode these numbers for me? I'm especially interested in the valve lash specs. Thanks to all.

Re: crane roller cam help

Are you sure it's not
2118/427-2S-8
211 Degrees at .050
.427 lobe lift
2 dual pattern cam the S means less that 10 degree spread between intake & exhaust duration
8 means ground on 108 centerline

Re: crane roller cam help

thanks; I may have misread the number tho': I think it's R-278/427-2s-8. Am I correct in thinking that the duration is 278 @.050?. Also, thanks for the correction on the "S". We have this cam in a super pro front engine dragster which has run a best of 5.89 in the eighth; upgraded to a 383 with the same cam and the car still runs 6.0"s. The engine has early chevrolet heads, 2.20 intakes and 1.60 exhausts; pocket ported only. Carb is a Holley 750 double pumper. Any advice will be appreciated.

you are correct 278 deg at .050 the exhaust is either 284 or 286 at .050 Good cam for as old as it is
It will run rpm wise to 8500 in a Boss 302 FORD
