Adjusting valves on cold engine

I need to adjust the valves on a SBC.It has a Crower solid cam,clearances are .022 intake and.024 exhaust with engine hot.Problem is I can't warm the engine in my neighborhood.What clearances should I use with the engine cold?

For cold valve lash, for the first time start up:

With an iron block and iron heads, I set mine about 0.004" to 0.006" loose. With an iron block and aluminum heads, I set mine about 0.006" tight.

Hope that helps.

Alan;
Do you use the same "rule" for a solid roller cam?

Yes Bob, I do. It seems to work pretty well. I tend to err to the tight side on lash, as a general rule, I don't like stuff bouncing around loose.
